Position Summary

The Quality Co-Man Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and trending customer complaint data to identify patterns, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement across manufacturing and quality systems.

This role transforms large datasets into actionable insights that support data-driven decision making, improve product quality, and reduce consumer complaints.

The analyst will partner cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, R&D, Engineering, and Customer teams to translate data into improvement strategies, corrective actions, and preventive initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Trending

  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze customer complaint data across products, production lots, and time periods
  • Develop dashboards and analytical models to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging quality risks
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Complaints per million units (CPM)
    • Complaint rates by product, lot, and production line
    • Complaint category trends (e.g., texture, dispense, packaging defects)
  • Identify correlations between complaint data and manufacturing variables such as production date, equipment, ingredients, and process conditions

Continuous Improvement

  • Translate data trends into actionable insights that drive quality improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Quality and Operations teams to prioritize opportunities based on data-driven risk assessment
  • Support root cause investigations using tools such as statistical analysis, 5-Why analysis, and fishbone diagrams
  • Monitor effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through ongoing data tracking

Reporting & Visualization

  • Build and maintain automated dashboards and reports for leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Present clear, concise insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Prepare executive-level summaries highlighting risks, trends, and improvement opportunities

Quality Systems Support

  • Maintain complaint databases ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and traceability
  • Support regulatory, customer, and internal quality reporting requirements
  • Assist with quality review meetings by providing trend analysis and supporting metrics

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Customer Service to ensure accurate complaint categorization
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to align complaint data with process performance
  • Support customer inquiries and investigations with data-driven insights


Qualifications

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Quality Management, Business Analytics, or a related technical field

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in data analytics, quality analytics, or continuous improvement roles
  • Experience in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or regulated environments preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical and statistical analysis capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data modeling, functions)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Experience working with large datasets and identifying meaningful trends

Quality & Process Knowledge

  • Understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, and investigation processes
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred
