We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst with a strong focus on financial and time data analysis to join our team in Westport, CT. They will use their skills in procuring, data cleansing, and providing insights through reports and ad hoc analysis. As needed, these queries will lend themselves to self-service Power BI reports. The Data Analyst reports to the Director of Data Architecture and is part of the company’s IT Applications/Data team which focus on supporting strategic business initiatives using custom built solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and gather relevant data from various sources such as SQL Server, Excel documents, CSV files, a data lakehouse, etc.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through data cleaning, validation, and preprocessing techniques.
  • Identify data quality issues and collaborate with the data owners for improvement.
  • Assist with the production of custom reports in SSRS for integration to the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with data team members on creating data pipelines and Power BI reports.
  • Utilize data visualization techniques to present findings and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders effectively.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and concise reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing findings.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and updates on KPI’s and metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, business, or related technical fields. (CTEs, temporary tables, windowed functions).
  • Strong understanding of SQL and experience writing complex queries.
  • Experience using visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI. Power BI Preferred.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and charts).
  • Experience writing Python a plus.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
