Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Data Analyst to join our team, bringing expertise in quantitative analysis, reporting, and operational efficiency. This role will support the Operations department by gathering and interpreting complex data and transforming data into actional insights for the organization to make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to present data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collaborate members of Operations to gather, analyze, and interpret large, complex datasets, including API and DC logs and Jira records.
  • Workflow and Data Mapping: Develop data workflows and mapping processes for in-depth quantitative analysis focused on claims financial, quality, and performance metrics.
  • Trend Identification and Root Cause Analysis: Identify trends and patterns within the data, conduct root cause analysis, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • AI Model Development: Build AI models to predict system outages, downtimes, and optimize team workload planning, utilizing data from historical operations logs and other sources.
  • Report Generation: Create regular and ad-hoc reports on system performance, customer behavior, and operational efficiency, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on various performance metrics.
  • Operations Dashboard Development: Develop an Operations dashboard by analyzing historical data, building charts, and creating models to enhance team decision-making.
  • Data Requests Support: Manage data requests to ensure that available data meets specific information needs and deliver accurate, comprehensive insights.
  • Advanced Spreadsheets and Efficiency Reporting: Design advanced Excel spreadsheets and claims metrics reports that reduce redundancies, enhance consistency, and streamline reporting processes.
  • Sprint Planning and Retrospective Support: Analyze Jira data to support sprint planning, retrospective reviews, and continuous process improvement.
  • Website Analytics and Customer Insights: Analyze Google Analytics and other web behavior tools to monitor user journeys and identify key customer behaviors.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Analytics, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years as a Data Analyst, or relevant education and practical experience in data analytics or a related field.
  • Property insurance industry experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with machine learning tools (e.g., Spark, Databricks) and AI model building for predictive analytics.

Essential Skills:

  • Advanced Excel proficiency, with expertise in creating efficient, structured spreadsheets for reporting.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Power BI).
  • Experience with API integrations and ability to analyze JSON and XML data structures.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and data visualization libraries such as Matplotlib or Seaborn.
