Location: Fully remote/ occasional travel

POSITION OVERVIEW 

We are seeking a creative and strategic Data Analyst who excels at transforming complex data into compelling, visually engaging narratives that drive decision-making for sales, marketing, and district leadership. Your ability to craft stories from data will directly impact how schools and districts understand their needs, make purchasing decisions, and implement technology solutions that improve student outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Data Visualization & Storytelling 

  • Develop advanced, interactive Tableau dashboards that not only visualize data but also frame insights in a way that compels action and drives strategic decisions.
  • Craft data narratives that influence key stakeholders in sales, marketing, and district leadership, helping them understand complex trends and make informed choices.
  • Use storytelling techniques—such as contextual framing, comparisons, and trend analysis—to translate raw numbers into meaningful insights that resonate with diverse audiences, including educators and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into actionable insights.

Data Analysis and Reporting 

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create ad-hoc reports and regular performance metrics to support strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency through rigorous quality checks and validation processes.

Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Work closely with business partners to define reporting requirements and deliver tailored analytics solutions.
  • Present insights in a way that influences strategy and decision-making—whether through live storytelling in meetings, written reports, or engaging data visualizations.
  • Customize presentations and reports for different audiences, from executive leaders to teachers ensuring insights are not just shared but understood and acted upon.
  • Act as a key resource for understanding and utilizing data to drive business decisions.

Continuous Improvement 

  • Stay updated on best practices in data analytics, visualization, and storytelling.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our data infrastructure and reporting processes.
  • Share innovative ideas and approaches to improve data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Market Research and Surveys 

  • Analyze external datasets to help Sales target potential opportunities (e.g., district size, budgets, demographics)
  • Centralize and organize feedback from various channels for data-driven decisions

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Tableau, including dashboard design and data visualization best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proven ability to translate data into clear, persuasive stories that drive business strategy.
  • Experience in data-driven storytelling, including structuring narratives around trends, opportunities, and business impact.
  • Strong ability to tailor data-driven messages for different audiences, from technical teams to non-technical stakeholders like educators and district leaders.
  • Portfolio of work that not only demonstrates visualization skills but also showcases how data was used to influence decisions or drive meaningful action.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to tell a compelling data story.
  • Experience with SQL and data manipulation tools.
  • Portfolio of work that demonstrates advanced visualization skills and creative storytelling.
  • Prior experience in the ed tech industry is highly desirable.

Reports to: Director of Reporting and Analytics 

Department: Finance and Operations
Supervisory: Individual Contributor  

Salary Range: 95K+ commensurate with experience and qualifications
