Overview

The Senior Business Analyst will assist the Digital Transformation team in understanding the organization’s operational needs for both automated and manual solutions to business systems and procedures of diverse scope. The Senior Business Analyst is involved in planning, organizing, and conducting detailed analytical studies to define problems, identify deficiencies and improve solutions which impact the enterprise’s effectiveness, and provide the basis for issue resolution. They collaborate with users to define business requirements for system enhancements and new functionalities to achieve process improvements and revenue savings through automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).


They will gather data through many sources, to looking for trends and identifying opportunities to improve performance. They will create efficiencies in processes using Six Sigma methodologies and reporting tools such as Power BI, Insights, as well as further develop our data collection and analysis practices while acting as a liaison between information technology and business leaders.

 

Successful candidates should be independent, take initiative in identifying and solving issues, understand IT and business workflows, be collaborative, have a quantitative background, be comfortable working with big data, be an excellent communicator at the management and executive level and be able to be a ‘jack of all trades’ with their skillset.

Job Highlights

Leadership & Management Skills:

  • Be able to pull interdepartmental teams together across varying skillsets to come to a decision and partner to improve processes and metrics
  • Understand organizational impacts of business decisions and align her/his department’s goals accordingly
  • Maintain good relationship with internal and external stakeholders to gain continued progress through mutual respect and dedication
  • Partner with Analytics to create and maintain Digital Transformation reporting
  • Partner with external vendors for new technology solutions
  • Lead projects including but not limited to business requirements for automation support, testing, reporting/analytics
  • Provide training, on-going education, and mentor team members

Business Analysis/Process Skills:

  • Design documents to automate business requirements/processes
  • Create process definitions and current/future state process maps for automation
  • Analyze and understand big data to decode major data trends and opportunities for automation
  • Create business cases to determine ROI
  • Identification of opportunities for the business to optimize and automate business processes through
  • Lean Six Sigma work or other optimization activities
  • Identification of data integrity issues and suggesting solutions for how to solve it

Communication Skills:

  • SR Analysts must be able to communicate and present their findings to managers and executives
  • Facilitate meetings to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Work with the Training team for training on the new processes
  • Must be able to communicate with IT regarding technical needs, while also having the ability to interpret trends and analysis for business owners in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to turn complex concepts into simple language 

Time Management:

  • Work on multiple projects and on multiple deadlines. Time management and expectation setting is key to success in the role

 

REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: No direct reports

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Experience with reporting tools an asset
  • Self motivated, team player, with a sense of autonomy, initiative, and responsibility
  • Comfortable interacting and presenting findings to senior management
