Specialty Data Business Analyst to help drive forward some of our most challenging and exciting data initiatives within a specific team/practice in the Specialty insurance division. 

 

Summary of the role 

We are looking for an experienced data business analyst to work as the bridge between business, data and technology to bring data to life in ways that directly impact our business. Joining us as a Specialty Data Business Analyst, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary broking team focused on delivering the best value for our clients and building your respective specialist practice. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Recognise business requirements and work with business stakeholders to refine requirements into technical deliverables 

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and track them regularly. 

  • Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion. 

  •  

  • Understanding of data warehousing principles such as Star Schemas, Reporting views, ETL.  

  • Performing data profiling on different data sources to validate the accuracy and completeness of data. 

  • Designing the target data model based on the reporting requirements. 

  •  

  • Create source to target mapping document for the ETL development. 

  • Liaise with technical IT data teams 

  • Prototyping data requirements with business users, creating user stories 

  • Understanding and analysing the stakeholders’ needs. 

  • Studying the different solution(s) that meet the demand, in partnership with the IT teams, and functional and technical architects. 

  • Monitoring developments and ensuring that the implementation corresponds to needs. 

  • Monitoring production to ensure stakeholders satisfaction. 

 

Requirements 

  • Prior experience in data-related tasks. 

  • Expertise in data analytics. 

  • Analytical thinking for converting data requests into data products 

  •  

  • Data mapping and data management fundamentals  

  • Experience of end to end process mapping/gap analysis 

  • Demonstrable Data Business Analyst Experience in Agile environment
