Sr Data Analyst - FP & A

SCOPE:

This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Department and Business Units in driving data analytics and business reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality insights to support decision-making. This position reports to the company’s Senior Director of Finance. There will be a significant amount of collaboration with business leader(s) and the IT team. Additionally, the role will routinely be working with other members outside the department in collaboration, training, process improvement/development and financial analytic support roles.

SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES

  • Thought partner for financial management and analytic support to business unit leaders
  • Transform data into charts, tables, or format that aids effective decision making
  • Develop ad hoc and recurring reporting packages for various stakeholders throughout the organization that identify financial and non-financial performance indicators and create recommendation for improvement when appropriate
  • Support the development of benchmarks into the company’s scorecards and performance reporting including Operational as well as financial performance metrics.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and provide meaningful insights
  • Synthesize findings, produce appropriate visualizations, and produce reports to tell a databased and audience-appropriate story
  • Utilize Strategic thought processes, market data, internal data to support and develop strategic recommendations
  • Provide support and guidance to finance team members on best practices for data analysis and reporting
  • Work closely with finance, operations, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment
  • Build strong business acumen to understand Operations and Sales needs and translate those into succinct data visualization and reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities within finance operations
  • Organizes, transforms, validates, and integrates internal data sources to support analyses
  • Ensure accuracy of reports through understanding financial elements and identify factors contributing to these results
  • Contributes to the development of script libraries and version control systems to automate, scale, standardize, and expand data science and analytics capabilities
  • Enhance and improve organization’s data governance practices with a focus on data quality, consistency, and availability across the organization
  • Support exploration of machine learning and artificial intelligence around software leveraged by finance team for planning and analytics

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, ore related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or business intelligence role
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing analytics requests end-to-end
  • Demonstrated ability to transform loosely developed questions or problems into clear, actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Strong working knowledge of database structures and tools : Experience with relational databases (SQL) and integrating data from various data sources; Experience with Business Intelligence Tool (Tableau, Power BI, etc)
  • Substantial familiarity with data storytelling through dashboards and visualization
  • Capability to understand business and operating environment of a company

  • Operates in a professional office environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit for long periods of times, talk, and hear.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, with the ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
