Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, complete, appropriate and timely standard data sets for use by North American Property Facilities
- Be the main contact for all data queries relating to the standard data sets
- Perform detailed analysis and identify trends in data
- perform root cause analysis and identify data anomalies and communicate back to the underwriters and cover holders
- Assist in the optimisation of the unit’s portfolio and ensure the best business is captured
- Assist in the production of monthly underwriting unit packs which will be especially critical for conferences and cover holder meetings
- Assist the Head of Data Management and IT in the building and enhancing the standard data sets
- Provide premium and exposure reports based on location and peril.
- Monitor rating environment amongst all North American Facility contracts and identify trends.
- Analyse Catastrophe modelling results and identify key drivers in terms of AAL and RDS.
- Liaise with Axis internal DUA unit with relation to monthly Risk Level, Premium and claims bordereaux.
- Match claims and premium bordereaux to identify trends in Loss Ratio.
- Use formal reporting mechanisms to promptly notify relevant parties of any perceived new risks or failures of existing control measures.
- At all times consider the effect of any actions taken on the customers of Axis with the intention of improving their experience.
- All employees must endeavour to prove accurate, complete and appropriate data, in accordance with Axis’ Data Policy, as part of their roles and responsibilities at all times.
- Display results in a clear, concise format including tables, graphs and charts and reports.
Background
- Educated to at least A-levels, one of which must be in a numerical/scientific discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
- Working knowledge of SQL is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail is essential
- Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate will all levels of the business.
- Detailed knowledge of data management principles, particularly with regards to data validation and reconciliation
- Prioritisation and time management skills in order to meet internal and external deadlines
- Knowledge of general insurance industry, specifically US property. Binder and MGA experience would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s of London and its regulatory processes (eg. RDS returns, LCM etc).
