About the role

Texthelp is a rapidly growing SaaS company which handles a considerable amount of data every day. Within our growth plans, the amount of data that we are managing is growing exponentially. 

The data touches on all aspects of the business both internal and external, for example operational data, sales, finance, and product usage. We recognise that there is a huge amount of value in this data but we need the right people, systems and processes in place to extract insights to support the business. 

The role reports directly to the Data Lead and together with other members of the data team, will be responsible for the collection, cleaning, analysing, and reporting on data to support the company's business goals. 

The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify trends, provide actionable insights and support data-driven initiatives. They will also need to be able to communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. The role sits within our newly formed Data Team in Texthelp, which is responsible for shaping our data strategy. The role offers great potential to impact our products and wider business.  


This role is ideally suited to someone who is versatile and adaptable both in terms of data analysis practice and the problems we are trying to solve. We’re very open to fresh ideas and new ways of thinking to solve data problems. We’re looking for someone who is keen to take their analysis to the next level, and broaden their skill set and technical knowledge. The role will also provide the opportunity to get your hands on new technologies including AI and Machine Learning.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyse data from a variety of sources

  • Help to ensure data accuracy and consistency

  • Develop and maintain data models and reporting dashboards

  • Collaborate with teams to define data requirements 

  • Identify and analyse trends and patterns in data

  • Create and deliver data-driven presentations and reports to stakeholders

  • Work with other teams to support the company's business goals

  • Assist in designing and implementing data-driven strategies

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices

  • Mentor junior data analysts, providing technical guidance and career development

  • Develop and maintain documentation of data analysis and dashboards

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science or software engineering

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a data analyst role

  • Experience and proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g. SQL, Excel, Python, R)

  • Experience and proficiency with data visualisation tools (preferably Tableau)

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Solid understanding of data modelling and statistical analysis

  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy

  • Experience with Databricks and data lakehouse architectures

  • Experience with Google Analytics & BigQuery

  • Experience with Google Data Studio

  • Experience working win an agile environment

  • Domain expertise in education technology

  • Proficient in Confluence or stronger
