SUMMARY:

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst (Business Intelligence) to join our National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) project and will have the opportunity to serve their country by embedding with key decision makers at the top levels of the U.S. Government. As the Senior Data Analyst, you will work closely with the NSIN Data Cell Lead. This role will join a team already recognized for its standout business analytics. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the success of internal business operations and the decisions made to meet Government goals, all to drive for greater efficiency and accuracy of executing the mission. This role demands a blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and managerial acuity to drive the success of complex data driven initiatives supporting government operations. This will require the Senior Data Analyst to build insightful reports, research ventures and innovators across the US, and present their products to Government Leadership - all while embodying high standards of Eccalon professionalism.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Utilize NSIN’s data and information about innovation in the US for use in analyzing trends and patterns around technology investments.
  • Understand clients’ needs and translate them into actionable data science solutions. Generate monthly reports on how well NSIN components and the overall enterprise are working based on agency KPIs and OKRs.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and long-term goals for the Data Cell
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the team and project workflows.
  • Support enterprise data migrations for large scale IT projects. Ensure overall data integrity and related attribute data are backed up.
  • Provide 1:1 assistance to the workforce regarding how to record their activities and how to utilize the data for their own products.
  • Track and respond to ad hoc product requests from leaders across the agency in a timely and polite manner.
  • Use data profiling and other discovery techniques to locate anomalies, outliers, and other instances that would cause a bottleneck in business operations.
  • Design and execute models for improved data collection, continually pivoting as needed to support the business.
  • Support the team in maintaining and supporting several activities, including entering and cleaning data, researching data conversions, establishing data specifications, updating sources, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Cross-walking field values and attributes from the origin to the destination while reconciling errors.
  • Mine data for the purposes of experimenting with predictive model prototypes.
  • Ensure all data solutions adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead a team of Data Analysts providing support to NSIN, fostering a collaborative, innovative and results oriented environment.
  • Develop clear goals and objectives for the team, aligning with organizational and project priorities.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Experience, Education, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Possess at least an earned B.A./B.S. degree.
  • A minimum of five years of experience, within the last ten years, working in leading Data Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), or Database Management, or a combination of all three in a corporate or Government setting.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership or team management role.
  • A minimum of five years of experience communicating complex data insights in a professional or academic setting.
  • A minimum of five years of experience, within the last ten years, with relational databases, Database Management System (DBMS), and related programming languages, (e.g., SQL, R, and Python).
  • A minimum of five years of experience with one or more data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Domo, Google Analytics, Salesforce, Power BI, or equivalent tools).
  • A willingness and aptitude to operate successfully as part of a remote, team-based culture.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new team members.
  • Establish clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and manage career development plans for team members.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage timelines.
  • US Citizenship Required.
  • Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A TS clearance with eligibility for SCI at time of proposal submission.
  • Experience leading a team or multiple teams concurrently.
  • Experience implementing large new scale data platforms across a distributed organization.
  • Experience teaching an organization to utilize data as a key component of the decision-making process.
