- Prior Experience of post-merger integration or entity rationalisation projects (highly desirable but not essential)
- 8+ year experience in Business Analyst capacity with evidence of successful change delivery.
- Experience at an Interdealer Broker or Broker Dealer/Investment Bank: Front Office and/or Middle Office
- Knowledge of types of trade execution (Matched Principal, Named Give-Up, Exchange Give-Up, etc.)
- Familiarity with Front Office and Middle Office processes and controls: Order Management and Capture, Trade Capture, trade lifecycle management, etc.
- Experience within at least one instrument Asset Class (IR, FI, Commodities, Equities); Ideally: Multi-asset class and instrument knowledge (cash and derivatives: OTC and exchange-traded)
- “Front-to-Back” knowledge of the business; able to interact at high to mid-level detail with Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations
- Industry Regulation & Compliance: Knowledge and experience of implementing regulatory response in at least one regime, e.g., MiFID II, IFPR, SM&CR, etc. Ideally: Multi-regime experience
Business Analysis
- Gap Analysis – Appraisal of business processes and establishing traceability to regulations or recommendations.
- Business Process design and re-engineering; Documentation techniques (e.g., BPMN)
- Stakeholder Elicitation (to C-Level)
- Requirements gathering and documentation (AKA Business Requirements Document, Functional Requirements Document, etc.)
- Regulatory interpretation – Regulations, Directives, and/or recommendations from local regulators
- Authoring project artefacts: presentation decks, etc. suitable for audiences to C-Level
- Able to analyse large datasets; reveal and present data trends catering to different audiences (e.g., high level versus low-level views)
- Employ structured analysis techniques such as Use Cases, UML, decision tables to ensure completeness, clarity and non-ambiguity of requirements.
- Lead the UAT testing cycle by analysing the firm’s data, capturing the testing evidence and collaborating with IT.
Project Management
- Familiarity with AGILE frameworks and Software Development Life Cycle
- Planning/Forecasting & Project charting; Risk & Issue management (i.e., RAID)
- Able to set up and operate framework for governing activities – ‘scrums,’ Management Committees, Steering Committees, and so on – where appropriate
