Axient is seeking a Network/Data Engineer to support our customer in Boulder, CO.

 

We support United States Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Technical and Engineering Task order directly supporting Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing Tools Application & Processing (TAP) Lab in Boulder, CO and integration support to the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Battlespace Awareness Center (OBAC) at Buckley SFB, Aurora, Colorado. 

We are looking for an innovative, creative, and highly motivated individual to support the installation workmanship standards, manufacture’s guidance and safety codes including rack installation.

 

This position requires a DoD Top Secret Clearance to start.









What you will do...






As part of a support team, you will:

  • Be responsible for configuration management, maintenance and administration of hardware and software for a government agency’s unclassified/classified, and stand-alone environment architecture enclaves.
  • Assist with servers, storage devices, network switches, cabling, desktops, operating systems software, and software applications.
  • Take responsibility of LAN circuit management, labeling and running cables, equipment/rack drawings and quality assurance.

Duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Ensuring all system environment hardware and software meet DoD security requirements
  • Help to manage the installation/removal process from cradle to grave by following the site survey process, project statement of work, update facility /rack drawings, cable labeling and quality control after completion of project
  • Identify configuration items, implements change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits
  • Provide configuration management for the enclave environment hardware, software, software applications and virtualization systems
  • Contribute to the team with installing, configuring and maintaining network and Windows/Red hat operating system environments
  • Perform daily monitoring and problem resolution of multiple operating environments using network monitoring tools and system software tools
  • Developing or modifying configuration management plans, policies and procedures tailored to the TAP Lab complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system
  • Ensure that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards which member is an active participant in.








Skills you will need...






Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of experience working information technology configuration management, maintenance and administration of hardware and software for a unclassified/classified and stand-alone environment architecture enclaves.
  • Bachelor's Degree. (Six (6) years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree; OR Associate's Degree plus four (4) years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.)
  • Must have an Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Must have one of these certifications:
  • CompTIA A+
  • CND,
  • Network+
  • SSCP  

Desired Experience

  • Experience with LAN/WAN networks to include Cisco and Juniper networking devices and technologies including switches, routers, and VLANs.
  • Experience with working in classified spaces to implement network solutions.
  • Ability to depict network diagrams, rack elevations and cable tables accurately.
  • Familiar use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio
  • Familiarity with Communications Security {Cryptographic Security} user support.
  • Experience working with Space Force/Air Force/DoD customers.
