Job Title: LiDAR Analyst II

Classification: Full Time Salary, Exempt

Salary Range:  $75,000 - $90,000 + Bonus eligibility and Benefits

Reports to: Data Production Manager

Date: 05-01-2025

 

Summary:

The LiDAR Analyst II will support the development of Phoenix LiDAR Systems through the analysis and processing of remotely sensed data from a variety of sensor types. This role requires an intimate understanding of the components of a LiDAR system, their characteristics, how their various streams of data are utilized to create geospatial products, and how industries use those products. The LiDAR Analyst II will work closely with our software development, production, and sales teams. This team member must possess the knowledge to help guide hardware and software development decisions. They will also form relationships with clients and support their needs. The LiDAR Analyst II will be expected to employ rigorous methodologies and maintain complete documentation of procedures. This person will also be able to work independently on critical tasks from start to finish, conveying timely results that are actionable and thoroughly researched. 

 

Essential Functions:

·      Calibrate integrated LiDAR systems and perform detailed quality control

·      Identify data issues troubleshoot and determine root cause  

·      Generate data products and adhere to end user specifications

·      Maintain expertise in GNSS/IMU coupled trajectory processing

·      Produce detailed reports as a product of data analysis and investigation

·      Evaluate and develop workflows for a variety of LiDAR and Photogrammetry software

·      Conduct technical training for clients

·      Develop and follow strict data quality standards

·      Documentation of software workflows

·      Understand industry needs and advocate on clients behalf


Supervisory responsibilities: N/A

Work Environment: Primarily in office/remote work setting

Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting or standing and computer use.

Position Type and expected schedule: Full time, On-Site/ or Remote, 9:00am-6:00pm CST, Monday - Friday 

Required Travel: 10-15% Expected will fluctuate based off demand.

Requirements

Competencies:

·         Oversee and advise the planning of mapping projects

·         Training, and Presenting to a varied client base

·         Ability to understand interrelated processes between different apps, and software platforms.

·         Intermediate proficiency in Google Workspace Applications

·         Communicating with supervisors, peers, and clients

·         Critical Thinking and ability to analyze and solve problems.

·         Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills

·         Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills

·         Ability to work independently, or as part of a team


Required Education and Experience:

·         Minimum of 5 years relevant experience:LiDAR, Geospatial data processing, Geodetics or similar

·         Bachelor's Degree or higher in Geo-science, geography, engineering, or a relevant field. 

 

Preferred Education and experience:

·         Seven (7) or more years’ experience

·         Project Management Experience

·         Experience working with a small entrepreneurial company.
