We’re currently seeking a Lead eCommerce Data Engineer that will drive the design, development, and implementation of data, BI & analytic solutions and systems, including: business process analysis, database design, core data architecture, data process development and enhancement, and report/dashboard design & development. This senior level role will take responsibility for project work from requirements to implementation, and be able to guide, support, and measure team activities towards completion of project goals. Must be comfortable working in autonomous roles and providing quality/consistent communications with team members and senior management.
How you will contribute:
- Data modeling and database design.
- Data processing within SQL Server BI-stack architecture & development.
- Query and performance analysis.
- Development and requirement gathering related to all of the above, which may include extensive interaction with business unit and technology team members and leadership.
What you will bring and skills that excite us:
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, MIS, or related.
- 10+ years experience with data/analytics development and architecture.
- 5+ years experience development lead & mentoring.
- Advanced experience with hands on development in SQL Server Technologies: T-SQL, SSIS.
- Recent experience working in a project management, database architect, or development lead role on data/analytics related projects.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, design and structures, data processing/ETL & analytics (big data, reports/dashboards, data warehouse).
- Experience designing SQL Server databases, including physical storage and data architecture concepts.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise-level BI tools.
- Experience acting in a lead, senior-level developer, and/or mentoring role.
- Experience working with vendors/partners implementing inter-organization data integrations/interfaces.
- Dimensional modeling and design, including slowly changing dimensions of various types.
- Big data and/or enterprise data warehouse (cloud analytics preferred).
- Evaluate and document organizational needs around data analysis and current data scenarios.
- Comprehensive understanding of relational database design principles.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical people.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Create and maintain reports summarizing data to be used by Management and Executives.
- Experience documenting complex data architectures and data systems.
- Microsoft MCP (BI-relevant) Certification(s).
- Tableau Platform architecture & development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must for this role.
- Experience working in a senior developer or lead capacity (preferred).
- Experience working on large, enterprise-scale projects, with diverse project teams.
- Willingness to work non-business hours related to support and project requirements.
