The Data Entry Analyst provides research assistance in addition to updating/maintaining data in technology systems with a particular focus on managing information around potential/eligible HSCSN members/enrollees. The Data Entry Analyst will compile, record, and evaluate data for completeness and accuracy, analyze data and prepare and generate reports. The Data Entry Analyst will also assist with preparing, analyzing and reporting data that is delivered across multiple technology platforms in the HSC Health Care System, to improve health care quality, assist in the prevention of hospital readmissions, as well as improve member safety, promote or increase wellness, and other health-related activities.
The Data Entry Analyst is responsible for providing accurate and timely delivery of reports and data requests to internal stakeholders within the HSC Health Care System. The Data Entry Analyst is required to develop a broad understanding of data sets available throughout the HSC Health Care System and is required to update documentation that describes the flow of data from any given data set to its final output format, in accordance with policies set forth for the BI & Analytics area. The Data Entry Analyst will provide support with the development, implementation, and maintenance of good and accurate data flowing from user inputs to reporting outputs.
The Data Entry Analyst assists with the maintenance of good and accurate data flowing from user inputs to reporting outputs, specializing in capturing potential/eligible enrollee information.

The Data Entry provides technical support as needed or requested within the scope of the specific assigned responsibilities. This role supports senior management in all these endeavors.

This is a full-time, regular position working standard and remote eligible (Exempt). 

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associate's Degree (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience

  • 2 years Candidate must have a minimum of two years experience working with data systems.
  • Must have proven problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word (Required)
  • 1 year Experience in writing SQL statements or using a graphical user interface tool that writes SQL statements.
  • Statistical knowledge highly encouraged.
  • Experience presenting technical data and information to non-technical users. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in working with data systems and have the ability to make presentations effectively
  • Must have excellent computer, data entry and analytical skills.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Be able to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Should have a familiarity with Washington, DC community.

Job Functions
Essential job duties:

  • Perform data entry of potential/eligible enrollees.
  • Update/Edit eligible enrollee’s information in CRM platforms and other data systems.
  • Ability to learn and follow instructions for submitting data in various CRM platforms or data systems as needed.
  • Audit data entries for completeness. Develops and maintains quality control standards and data reconciliation techniques for internal reporting.
  • Research demographic and eligibility information for eligible enrollee.
  • Analyze data, generate reports through Pivot tables, and excel spreadsheets.
  • Validate data in reports and participate in testing. Ability to complete and validate ad-hoc data requests as needed by various internal departments.
  • Adheres to reporting deadlines for assigned reports. Complete all governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms in accordance to procedure.
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements to adhere strict compliance of all aspects of the department.
  • Participate in staff and operational development programs
  • Actively participate in quality assurance processes by utilizing system work queues, making a personal effort to reduce individual errors, and making corrections. Utilize system work queues as a daily part of the registration process to minimize errors.
  • Ensure customer service by consistently demonstrating a caring, positive, professional, and helpful disposition with all customer interactions, both internal and external.

  • Support Data Analyst with completing quality assurance review of data provided for potential/eligible enrollee.
  • Ability to think strategically in connecting data flows into big picture business outcomes.
  • Ability to extract data using a variety of commercially available tools including MS Excel, MS SQL tools, including the ability to learn new analytics tools such as Power BI, etc. Ideal fit will be an Excel guru comfortable with data manipulation functions.
  • Demonstrates a curiosity and drive for identifying the most efficient and accurate reporting solutions.
  • Ability to maintain documentation relating to data management including report specifications, and data dictionaries. Updates documents on methodologies used to develop reporting outputs, including demonstrating the flow of data to supervisors for review purposes.
  • Ability to assist in maintaining the flow of accurate data sets to various tools that allow stakeholder access to information in a self-service manner, including SSRS, and other tools as introduced. Includes the ability to train senior leaders and management on the effective use of such tools.
  • Assists in creating graphs and charts for presentations to internal stakeholders.
  • Follows departmental policies and procedures in preparation of both recurring/compliance reports and ad hoc reports.
  • Attends meetings where reporting and analytics expertise is needed and represents the department in both internal settings.
  • Supports health information technology and provides the technical reporting expertise in support of\: interoperability; improvements in patient safety;
