Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis with matrix reporting to the Sr. Director of IT, the Junior Data Analyst is a temporary, per-diem position that will be responsible for supporting the build and maintenance of a company-wide SQL database/data warehouse and related business analytics tools. The Junior Analyst will also support other Finance and IT projects while continuing to improve on existing platforms and processes as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet regularly with the Manager of FP&A and other stakeholders to agree scope and tasks.
  • Develop an overall plan for the assigned project(s) including expected milestones with dates.
  • Maintain documentation in Teams or another shared file repository for the agreed project(s) to include at minimum, process mapping, project plan, reference material, regular status reports, risks and issues log, and testing and release plans.
  • Provide complete transparency of activities related to assigned projects to the Finance/IT team at each check-in (to be scheduled on at least a bi-weekly basis). 
  • Attend team meetings as agreed with the Manager of FP&A.
  • Work collaboratively with IT, finance, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to resolve project issues.
  • Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college/university for a relevant subject, such as Computer Science or Health Informatics.
  • Advanced skills in general computing (Windows 10/11, Office 365, Web applications, iPhone and/or Android, authentication technologies).        Experience with Microsoft PowerBI preferred.
  • 1-2 years competency in Microsoft SQL Server plus SQL scripting skills.
  • 1-2 years competency with developing in modern programming language(s) including use of an Integrated Development Environment, such as Visual Studio or Eclipse.
  • Knowledge of gathering, analyzing, and defining business and functional requirements and designing/re-engineering IT databases and systems.

The salary range and/or hourly rate displayed is a determination of base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.  NYPC takes into consideration several factors in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skillset, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity and other business and organizational needs.
