DescriptionWe are seeking a Data Engineering intern to join our team as we embark on an exciting new journey into the Google Cloud Platform. We are looking to modernize and optimize our Data & Analytics program by consolidating our legacy data platforms onto GCP, and we will be enabling a suite of leading capabilities to support Tiffany & Co. with technologies including Power BI, AI/ML, and streaming data. This internship will provide the opportunity to work with state of the art data technology for an iconic brand.
As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate a curiosity and interest in data engineering or analytics. You will be collaborative with strong communication skills. You will participate in our key initiatives and high value projects, including the migration of our existing data warehouse platforms onto GCP.

Dates: Internship duration is June 3 - August 9, 2024. Candidates are asked to be available to work for the entire 10-week program.

Location: This positions is in-person at our Parsippany, NJ office.

Salary: Compensation for this position is $25 per hour working a total of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of Data Engineering such as SQL, Spark, ETL (extract, transform, and load), and data development processes.
- Has a basic understanding of Agile methodologies and connects individual work assignments to overall project delivery.
- Follows established procedures in building solutions.
- Completes deliverables as assigned by phase, iteration, or sprint.
- Assists data teams in identification and resolution of issues. Researches or triages problems
- Communicates issue, request, or problem status to all parties as appropriate.
- Is curious and creatively looks for opportunities to leverage innovative technology
- Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders
- Is a hands-on learner for new platforms, capabilities, and skills.
Qualifications:
- Basic experience with Data Engineering or Analytics development.
- Good understanding of data design principles.
- Understanding of a scripting or programming language such as Python or Java
- Great planning, coordination, and execution skills.
- Communicate accurately and concisely, both written and verbal
- Be conscientious, reliable, and inquisitive with a keen desire to learn
- Retail experience is a plus.
- Enrollment in an analytics, computer science, or information technology degree program.
