Finance Business Analyst - SP

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner for the Service Provider division, this role is key to producing insightful financial information that links the operational performance of the business to the monthly financial reporting. This is a fantastic role for an individual studying for an accountancy qualification.

The purpose of this role is to support the Finance Business Partner with preparation of accurate month-end reporting, budgeting and processing of key financial inputs.

The role will involve liaising with stakeholders across the business, therefore excellent communication skills and regular travel to our 2nd office in Silverstone is needed for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring accuracy and integrity of monthly accounting and project reporting.


• Produce monthly management accounts for a range of projects and produce commentary for monthly reporting pack that links reported results to operational performance.


• Prepare and post a range of month-end journals.


• Support operations in the production of finance trackers being a source of Excel expertise for the operational team to call upon.


• Perform detailed reviews of project Work In Progress (WIP) balances to ensure clean ledgers are maintained working closely with Project Managers to identify expenses that can be onwards charged to customers.


• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting .


• Challenge the status quo to identify process inefficiencies within both financial and operational activities and help produce solutions for issues identified.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

• Strong numerical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.


• Intermediate Excel (Pivot Tables, X-Lookups, etc.)


• Studying towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA.


• Excellent team player.


• Ability to communicate with non-finance colleagues about financial issues.


• Proficient understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
