We are seeking an Energy Resources Data Analyst who has experience in the energy industry with an electric utility, Community Choice Aggregator (CCA), power marketer, energy portfolio manager, or regulatory entity who ideally has knowledge of CAISO. This individual will utilize their experience in data analytics, database management and building dashboards to support the energy procurement team.
The Energy Resources Data Analystwill:
- Pull data variety of formats including Excel, CSV and/or JSON files.
- Create dashboards and visualizations utilizing Google Looker Studio.
- Build and maintain relational databases in Google Bigquery.
- Use SQL to develop queries and database views.
- Work with cross functional teams and consultants to ensure effective working relationships while focusing energy analytics and compliance reporting.
- Identify ways to improve internal processes as the organization continues to scale-up.
- Documentation of processes and analysis.
- Ad hoc projects,
What you need to succeed in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant work experience, Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience, or High School diploma with 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience within the energy sector such as electric utilities, Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs), power marketing firms, energy portfolio management or regulatory agencies.
- Programming skills and data analysis, utilizing R, Python, and/or SQL to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
- Experience creating dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio.
- Experience with relational databases and extracting valuable insights through Google BigQuery and SQL.
- Demonstrated success owning and delivering projects.
- You are an effective communicator, able to work with cross functional teams and a variety of personalities in a diverse culture.
