Salary: £45,859 – £53,100 dependent on experience

Type: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week)

Location: Ealing office base with Hybrid working

About the role

We’re searching for a Data Engineer to join our friendly and hard-working IT Department here at A2Dominion. This role is to provide the technical capabilities to support the delivery of the A2Dominion analytics platform.

Key responsibilities:

  •  Support the architecture, design, development and delivery of A2Dominion’s Business Intelligence and Analytics solution based on the Microsoft Data Platform. This solution will include the Azure SQL Synapse Data Warehouse solution, based on data from Dynamics 365 F&O and CE, and other sources
  • Develop ETL/ELT processes, data lake storage architecture, data warehouse, data marts, in-line with the company data management framework and enterprise data strategy
  • Assist the design of the Azure Synapse Data Warehouse data model incorporating star/snowflakes schemas, and Dimensional Modelling, as appropriate
  • Support data engineering activities, such as release management, environment controls, and the development of Continuous Integration / Continuous Development pipeline orchestration (i.e. through DevOps)
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data in the data warehouse
  • Continually develop technical skills and gain knowledge in the latest strategies, tools, and techniques to improve the analytics capability within the organisation, keeping abreast of Microsoft’s fast changing product landscape and data capabilities
  • Contribute to the Data Governance Working Group, comprising of key resources from the Data and BI team
  • Provide input to the Data Warehouse and Analytics Governance Group artefacts

More about you

For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following:

  •  Educated to Degree level in a computer science or related field, or equivalent knowledge based on experience
  • Qualified in SQL Server Database Fundamentals
  • Architectural design knowledge of data warehouse/data analytics based on MS Azure
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Data Lake, Data Lake Analytics, Data Pipeline, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL DB, and Azure Purview
  • Experience of SQL data warehouse design (including Star/Snowflakes schemas, and Dimensional Modelling)
  • Experience in SQL Server Data Warehouse development
  •  Strong working knowledge of Phyton/PySpark
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of BI Visualisation tools, such as Power BI
