Data Analyst - Upstreams

You will join the team in delivering insight and analysis which allow ClearScore to rapidly scale and deliver a seamless experience for our users. Analysts play a key role within ClearScore, driving strategy and key decision-making, which ultimately benefits our users, partners, and other teams within the business.

ClearScore has an amazing analytical community which includes Data Analysts, Scientists and Engineers. The community works collaboratively to ensure a landscape in which team members can develop their full potential and deliver maximum business impact.

ClearScore is both a free credit score and report service and the UK’s leading consumer credit marketplace. The New Product Development team designs the annual update of the ClearScore product. This includes delivering innovative new features which improve user engagement and make use of new commercial partnerships, datasets and technologies.

Working in this team you will play a key role in delivering analysis to support the launch of new releases, by helping our team of predominantly Product Managers and Designers better understand our users and focus on the most valuable opportunities which will make an impact. You will also have the exciting opportunity to contribute to building prototypes of new features which are powered by data.

What you will be doing:

  • Work closely with the team (of predominantly PMs and Designers) to help them better understand our users from data, and focus on the most valuable new in-product opportunities which will make an impact.
  • Help us validate new product ideas, by contributing to building data-elements and models of new feature prototypes, in Databricks with DBT.
  • Analyse the performance of our major product releases from an engagement and UX perspective to inform future releases.
  • Build business-case models to determine the feasibility of new commercial opportunities.
  • Contribute to how we rank and target content within our Product to best personalise the user experience.
  • Help setup and evaluate any Product A/B tests including False Door tests.

Skills we'd love you to have

  • You must possess advanced SQL and Excel skills.
  • You have basic DBT (Data Build Tool) skills to deliver data models in Databricks which will underpin new feature prototypes or dashboards
  • Experience using Databricks or other data platform tools such as GCP, and ideally data visualisation tools such as Amplitude, Databricks or Domo
  • Experience of Product Analytics (and using techniques such as Segmentation Analysis, Funnel analysis, Cohort Analysis) and have basic stats knowledge.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your own workload.
  • You have a desire to learn and enjoy working collaboratively, with a desire to contribute to our culture.
  • You do not need to fit into a stereotype: we are really committed to closing our gender gap and are actively trying to create an environment where you, as an individual, can thrive.
  • Strong quantitative and numerical skills.
  • Python skills are a bonus.

  • Dedicated in-office days for team building and collaborative projects
  •  Office facilities (with plants!) designed for productive interactions
  • Clear expectations and support for maintaining our hybrid schedule
We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment that accommodates diverse needs while maintaining our collaborative culture. Join us in shaping the future of work!
