40Gundersen Health System is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Patient Access Strategic Work Team. The Patient Access team uses the Agile methodology (Scrum framework) and is charged to develop and execute solutions that increase patient access for our community. This is your chance to use your data analysis skills to help identify opportunities for improvement and track progress towards our goals.
What You Will Do:
Help build the Access Scorecard for the organization.
Collaborate with department leaders and staff to identify issues, develop ideas, and implement changes in clinical workflows that help achieve organizational goals related to patient access.
Work closely with the Patient Access Strategic Work Team members, including the solution owner, scheduling specialist, and Registered Nurses.
Become familiar with the Scrum framework and participate and lead various scrum events, as well as meet and collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Report out on results to senior leaders with other Strategic Work Team members.
What's Available:
Fulltime, 80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)
Schedule: Monday-Friday days
Located at our Onalaska, WI Support Services Building with ability to shift to a remote basis. Remote eligibility for residents of WI, MN, and IA only.

What You Will Need:
Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related field
3-4 years of experience in data mining, analysis, visualization, and using Business Intelligence Tools
Strong analytical skills and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
Proficient in SQL and other data manipulation tools
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

Highly skilled in all aspects of data analysis, including descriptive, predictive, diagnostic, and prescriptive analytics, the Data Analyst combines theory and practice to identify, visualize, and communicate data-driven insights to support informed business decisions. Develops and implements processes to acquire data from primary and secondary data sources and maintain databases.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Analyzes data using statistical software and strong skills in research methodology. Uses appropriate analysis methods (descriptive and inferential statistical analysis) and communicates the results of the analysis in narratives, tables, and graphs, and provides recommendations based on findings to key stakeholders.
2. Create reports and maintain rich visualizations through data interpretation, data mining, analysis, and integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.
3. Develop, implement, and maintain analytic systems and data collections systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks.
4. Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
5. Performs independent analysis (descriptive and inferential) and converts data into useable information. Identifies the data necessary to establish the baseline and measure change.
6. Presents and communicates in a manner that builds constructive and effective relationships.
7. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
8. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or Related Field
DESIRED Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics or Related Field
Work Experience:
REQUIRED 3-4 years of experience in data mining, analysis, visualization, presentation, and using business intelligence tools.
DESIRED 5-7 years of experience in data mining, analysis, visualization, presentation, and using business intelligence tools.
