JOB TITLE: Data Analyst - IT 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The purpose of this position is to oversee the Organization’s data collection, trend analysis and reporting on outcomes measurement tools. Acts as advisor to Senior Leadership Team regarding metrics data management. Coordinates and provides training reporting to Leadership Team. May also prepare dashboards for Board Members. Works collaboratively across departments on the development of dashboards, Power Bi cards, statistics and marketing materials. This position may also work on other projects as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Reports directly to the Vice President of Information Technology.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

None. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Information Systems, Business Analytics), or equivalent professional experience.

2. Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in a data analyst, business intelligence, or analytics engineering role.

3. Strong proficiency writing SQL against relational databases, including joins, window functions, CTEs, and query performance tuning.

4. Demonstrated experience building reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling and DAX.

5. Working proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis (e.g., pandas, NumPy).

6. Hands-on experience designing or maintaining data pipelines in Azure Data Factory (or a comparable ETL/ELT tool).

7. Experience working with Azure SQL or other Microsoft SQL Server environments.

8. Minimum two years relevant experience in Data Analyst or similar environment preferred. 

9. The ability to design, build, and maintain data pipelines in Azure Data Factory to ingest data from point of sales, production, ecommerce, and other systems.

10. The ability to develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views against Azure SQL databases.

11. The ability to use Python and SQL to conduct ad-hoc analysis, data exploration, and automation of recurring tasks.

12. The ability to monitor data pipelines for errors, latency, and data quality issues; troubleshoot and remediate as needed.

13. Excellent interpersonal communication skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness in order to interact with all levels of management, employees, program participants, and the public.

14. Ability to write accurate, concise, grammatically correct letters, memos, reports, etc.

15. Proficient PC skills including current versions of Microsoft Office and Excel.

16. Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance, and a DMV record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.
