Position Title: Data Analyst
Department: 9030|IRI-Tech Transfer
Responsibilities:
The Data Analyst is
responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to
support business decisions. The Data Analyst will work closely with
stakeholders from all levels of the organization to understand their needs and
develop solutions that meet those needs.
The Data Analyst
will report to the Chief Technology Officer of the Informatics Research
Institute.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and clean data
from various sources, such as databases, APIs, and spreadsheets.
- Analyze data using
statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends, patterns,
and insights.
- Create data visualizations and reports that are easy to
understand and present them to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement data-driven solutions to address
business problems and opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and
requirements and design data solutions that meet those needs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest data science trends, tools,
and techniques.
- Conduct research to identify new data sources and
methodologies that can be used to improve data collection and analysis
processes.
- Provide training and support to other team members on data
analysis and visualization tools and techniques.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or decision
science or a closely related field.
- Five years of work
experience in developing data scientific systems in real world settings
may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in
data analysis.
- Master’s degree in computer science or decision
science or a closely related field.
- Advanced experience in a
specialized area such as Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark),
cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure).
- Knowledge of machine
learning, natural language processing, statistical, or data mining
techniques.
- Proficiency in Python or
SQL.
