GCI's Data Analyst will analyze supplier spend & invoice data to create detailed baselines to support sourcing projects. Compile multiple bids and create deal summary documents to support supplier negotiations. Update deal summary documents throughout the negotiation lifecycle to support sourcing managers. Implement data refinement processes to improve input/output quality of supplier spend from ERP system and credit cards. Establish data structure to facilitate the production of procurement reporting (Savings reports; Project Reports; KPI Dashboards, etc.). Establish platform and data structure for procurement SharePoint sites.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:
  • Provide analytical and problem-solving support to support cost reduction initiatives, improvement initiatives and sourcing data stewardship.
  • Prepare data requests for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Create RFQ, RFP, and RFI documents.
  • Create deal summaries to prepare for negotiations.
  • Create story-board presentations to present data in a logical manner to solve business problems.
  • Implement processes and controls for maximizing procurement data quality.
  • Monitor data input quality and coordinate corrective action plans for addressing data integrity issues.
  • Manage the spend analytics tool for GCI (compilation of spend data, normalized vendor and spend categories).
  • Support data requests from category and sourcing managers.

Level Definition

Position Title: Data Analyst 

Grade: E04

Additional Job Requirements:

This is an entry level position within the discipline; supply chain; data analyst; works under close supervision on basic projects and refers more complex issue to higher teams; requires working knowledge of subject matter, supply chain, data analysis/management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: *A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or relevant field. *
  • Minimum working knowledge within a supply chain/procurement business data type environment or relevant type experience. *

Preferred: 

  • Telecommunications experience.  
  • Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

  • This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:  
  • Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
  • Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Ability to make valid judgments and decisions. 
  • Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary. 
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
  • Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.
