established in 2018 and entering its fifth season – features national teams battling in short, 

intense races at iconic stadium-style venues across the globe.


The high-tech, high-speed action features the sailing's best athletes racing in identical 

hydrofoiling F50 catamarans, flying at speeds approaching 100 km/h who compete for the 

sport's top prize money, with US$7 million at stake over the season.

Role summary

 

We're seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst to join our growing team and to provide data analysis services for the F50s and the wider SailGP data ecosystem during the 2025 season. The successful individual will be responsible for analysing data with the rest of the data team for the F50s, sustainability, while helping to develop software tools for the role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that is looking to learn and grow in an exciting international organisation, work with a wide range of technology, have exposure to cutting edge technology, have involvement in projects and be able to make an immediate impact. You will work in an analysis team and report to the Lead Data Analyst.


Responsibilities


  • Provide onsite support in the form of performance analysis services to coaches and teams on an ad hoc basis.
  • Provide help desk support to the teams for performance related queries.
  • Assist with on-water calibrations within the team’s control.
  • Help the team's coaching staff during debrief sessions where required.
  • Provide data analysis services for the rest of the Sail GP ecosystem such as sustainability or broadcast.
  • Create and update analysis dashboards for team, broadcast and wider use.
  • Creating documentation for the teams in relation to performance analysis and on water calibrations where required.

 

Technical skills required

  • A strong sailing background with an understanding of performance related parameters and how they impact on a boat's performance is a must have attribute.
  • A good knowledge of Python.
  • An engineering (STEM) degree.
  • The ability to translate complex information into easy to digest feedback for teams and SailGP internally.
  • Report writing.
  • Comfortable working in Google G-Suite.
  • Good all-round technology knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with ML/AI techniques and proficiency building models and analyzing large datasets.

Location & Time

  • UK or Eurozone
  • The majority of the time you will be remotely based.
  • You will attend a majority of our 15 events on site during the 2025 season and work alongside the data analysis team.
  • This is a contractor position
