This role is based in our new Soho Place office – opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.

The role

The Trading Platform Services (TPS) Team at G-Research is responsible for providing support services to the non-investment functions of group companies, managing internal teams at G-Research and managing new business initiatives and business expansion.

The Trading Platform Services Data Analyst will play a key role, working with business users across trading, operations and treasury to develop a suite of metrics – including business and operational KPIs, management, financial and board reporting metrics - and support technology processes that will be used to set the strategic direction of the business and improve efficiency.

You will also be responsible for producing metrics packs for key internal stakeholders, including the Head of TPS and senior management, and working closely with the Director of Operations to continuously improve how data is used to manage the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Creating and managing the operational metrics to drive the Trading Platform Services function
  • Creating management reporting for our client
  • Generating workflows and process mapping of value and flow
  • Identifying and measuring service levels to our client
  • Implementing best practices to ensure data integrity and reliance
  • Identifying bottlenecks, process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvements within the function and impacting the function
  • Feeding into regular reporting and monitoring rhythms
  • Leading and delivering projects to improve business performance and decision making, using a variety of analytical and modelling techniques
  • Working cross-team and facilitating discussions with the client
  • Liaising with the central Insights and Delivery team on companywide metrics, best practices and processes

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong academic credentials, including a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent
  • Educational background in operations management or similar
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and enjoy handling complexity
  • Ability to work across simultaneous tasks in a pressurised, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to proactively problem solve, identify key drivers and be solution oriented
  • Demonstrable experience of owning and delivering end-to-end analytics projects, including data extraction, cleaning, analysis and report building
  • Practical experience in a data analytics setting, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with SQL, Jira, Visio, Python, Tableau, Power BI or similar is highly beneficial
  • Experience working across multiple functional areas (such as front office, operations, treasury, risk management and market structure) at an investment bank or non-bank liquidity provider with experience improving operations would be beneficial
