Job Title: Data Analyst (Metals)

Location: Hybrid Office (Nr Peterborough) / Home

Reports to: Commercial Director 

Salary: £30,000-£35,000

Overview:

Our client is a leader in sustainable resource recovery, specialising in processing Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) to recover valuable metals. With decades of experience, they combine innovative technology and sustainable practices to produce low-carbon alternatives to mined materials. The Data Analyst (Metals) will provide essential data control, analysis, and insights into metal material trends, supporting business performance and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and analyse metals-related data, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
  • Improve and integrate data systems, minimising manual entry and improving data quality.
  • Develop and present data visualisations and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Perform routine and ad-hoc statistical analysis, using advanced analytical techniques to predict trends.
  • Support cross-departmental communication, providing data-driven insights for key business decisions.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, predominantly Excel and Business Intelligence tools, including Power BI, with coding and programming skills for data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience in data validation and cleansing.
  • Expertise in data visualisation and clear communication of complex findings including presenting the data to all stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify trends, make recommendations, and influence business performance through data insights.

Who We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work with large, complex datasets. They should have experience in data analysis, data systems improvement, and the ability to provide clear insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively across teams. Experience in the metals, aggregates, or waste-to-energy sectors would be advantageous. The person will work in the office three days per week and two days per week at home if required.
