SIXT is in the middle of a transition from a car rental company to one of the world’s leading mobility providers. With our ONE app, we have successfully expanded our traditional rental business to unified mobility offering including car sharing and ride-hailing. Based on our in-house IoT telematics platform SIXT ConCar, we are currently enhancing our fully digital, premium self-service customer experience. We are searching for a senior Java (Spring) developer that has experience with our SIXT Tech stack or similar technologies. Our Kubernetes-based Microservices platform runs on AWS using Apache Kafka for high-volume, near-real-time event processing. We gain insights out of our data using AWS Athena and apply AI approaches and technologies. SIXT Tech offers multiple open positions and developer profiles (m/f/d). Engineering market-changing mobility solutions. Knowledge of the vehicle routing problem space or other geo-optimization problems is of advantage, but not required. Specialization in our IoT / Telematics platform SIXT ConCar. Excitement for embedded systems (you do play with Rasberry Pies, don’t you?) and automotive systems (you CAN speak car?) are welcome for this role, but not required. DO WHAT YOU LOVE

• You will be working in an agile team designing, building and evolving our mobility products or IoT platform
• You develop backend services in a cloud environment with modern microservices
• You will understand and constantly challenge the status quo of your business domain and find pragmatic tech solutions
• You question and optimize processes and implementations. You come up with suggestions for improvement, put these into a solid technical concept, while you collaborate intensively and make decisions within a team
• You take full ownership of the product and services in your domain with a “you build it, you run it” attitude

COME AS YOU ARE

• You have experience in a technologically sophisticated environment such as building cloud-native applications, solving scalability challenges, designing event-driven solutions - ideally in a startup dynamic setting
• You are experienced in designing software in complex domains and are have successfully applied approaches such as DDD
• You have strong development and architecture experience in Java and you have proven experience in building cloud-native applications, Strong experience in the development of a custom Java application on a Cloud Platform, preferably with Spring
• You have a good understanding of event-driven platforms, RESTful web services, gRPC services and Message Brokers, preferably Apache Kafka
• You have got experience in working with containers and container orchestration and monitoring systems, preferably Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus and Instana
