Job Description

Our direct client located on Mercer Island, WA has a need to add a talented Data Analyst to their team for an enterprise level project. This position provides execution support to the data management team by leveraging their analytical expertise in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.  This is a research intensive position which resides within the data management team within Information Technology.

 

As a highly visible liaison between the Business, IT, and the Project Management Office, this position is responsible for the development of functional and technical specifications.  This position will perform in-depth analysis of data, systems, and processes and document their analysis.

 

This position will support the development of business cases, evaluate development efforts and solutions with regard to scope and feasibility, perform impact analysis, and create recommendations for solutions.

 

This position may participate in data governance and master data management initiatives and/or other projects as assigned.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform analysis of complex business processes and systems.

  • Perform research and analysis of data including data profiling.

  • Develop standards for documenting metadata.

  • Document data cleansing and transformation logic.

  • Leverage tools, including BPM, to document processes.

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation which may include SDLC and/or Project Management artifacts.

  • Support the development of communication material.

  • Participate in the development and review of recommendations of technical solutions and/or processes.

  • Liaison with business partners, IT, the Project Management Office, and external vendors, as necessary.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Information Technology, with at least 3 years in an analytical role.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with relational databases (large enterprise preferred).

  • Applied experience developing business requirements including functional and technical specifications.

  • Proficient in SQL.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

     

 

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience developing source to target mapping.

  • Experience with Business Process Modelling software.

  • Experience in report design, development, and analysis.

  • Data modelling a plus.

  • Scripting and/or development experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of OLAP, ROLAP, and MOLAP technologies and methodologies.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
