THE OPPORTUNITY

Summary: Citizens is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to transform raw data into actionable insights, create reports and dashboards, and help drive strategic initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO:

1. Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.

2. Reporting & KPI Development

  • Develop, track, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics aligned with organizational goals.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports to support ongoing business monitoring.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting deliverables.

3. Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.
  • Provide analytical leadership and guidance on projects requiring data insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into reporting and analysis solutions.

4. Data Visualization & Dashboard Design

  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of dashboards and reporting tools to enhance usability and clarity.
  • Recommend innovative approaches to visualize data for executive and operational audiences.
  • Ensure reporting outputs effectively communicate insights and drive action.

5. Strategic Impact & Decision Support

  • Support executive leadership (including C-suite stakeholders) with high-level analysis and insights.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by providing data-backed perspectives and recommendations.
  • Help drive critical business decisions through timely and accurate data reporting.

6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply creative and critical thinking to identify new ways to leverage data for business value.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy to develop solutions and improve processes.
  • Contribute to the growth and foundation of the data analytics function within the organization.

7. Organizational Impact

  • Play a key role in shaping and building a growing data analytics department.
  • Deliver measurable impact through data initiatives that support company growth and stability.
  • Influence business outcomes through actionable insights and strong analytical thinking.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (4-year degree)
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities while maintaining a high-level attention to detail
  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple internal and external sources
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and define key metrics
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and transform data from multiple sources
  • Perform ad‑hoc analyses to support forecasting, performance tracking, and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and documentation of methodologies
  • Present insights and recommendations to leadership in a clear, actionable format
  • Insurance industry experience preferred but not required
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to think analytically and strategically to identify and solve problems, implement solutions, and advance business initiatives
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and escalate issues to management
  • Outstanding organizational skills, including prioritizing and follow-up and the ability to handle competing demands and priorities
  • Must be fully proficient with SharePoint and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
