POSITION SUMMARY (Basic purpose or primary function of job)

The right candidate for this role is comfortable diving into data and is passionate about insights data can provide organizations. We are looking for someone with Salesforce experience who understands Salesforce reports and the data architecture within Salesforce (NPSP). In this role, you will assist in building and managing reports within Salesforce in addition to helping us with data management, which includes exporting and importing of constituent data to help in improving data quality and insights. 

The CRM Data Analyst will also work with the VP of Constituent Strategy, our CRM Administrator, our Director of Data Operations and colleagues from across the organization to understand our reporting needs and work to build out and improve reporting and dashboards throughout Salesforce.  This position will work with vendors and our IT department to assist with ETL processes, imports, extracts and data analysis via dashboards, reports, and PowerBI. To be successful in this position, the right candidate should have at least two years of experience in working with Salesforce, and experience in similar data management and analysis roles.

SCOPE:   

This role will work to understand our data within Salesforce as well as the data with our data warehouse, our connected source systems and the data processes that operate between them. From within Salesforce, this role will be responsible for updating and building out reports and dashboards, as well as ad hoc reporting requests driven by the Constituent Strategy department or from across the organization.

Ultimately, this role will work closely with peers from across the organization to help enable data‐driven decision making and insights via regular reporting of KPIs and other performance metrics derived from Salesforce and our connected systems.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Principal responsibilities or job duties)

Priority areas this position owns and manages:

  • Optimization of current reports and dashboards
  • Working with peers to understand reporting needs
  • Building out new reports and dashboards
  • Fulfilling ad hoc requests for data exports and imports
  • Monitoring processes that ensure high quality data supports our reporting and dashboards
  • Supports data audits and CRM health checks that review CRM and source systems for quality, accuracy and completeness.
  • Interfaces with peers on a continual basis to understand organizational needs for reporting and monitoring key performance indicators.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a data and reporting role 
  • Experience with performing data updates, exports, imports, clean-ups and analysis 
  • 1 – 2 years working with Salesforce, preferably NPSP
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive collaborative relationships across all verticals within an organization. Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to support fundraising teams by providing donor data analysis, insights, and actionable recommendations to enhance donor engagement, retention, and acquisition strategies.
