About the position:
The Business Analyst / Data Analyst is responsible for displaying a high level of competency in consulting, oil and gas business acumen, business development, and technical knowledge. You are responsible for working alongside team and clients and providing strategic guidance on business processes and IT capabilities. This ranges from identifying and developing client needs (reports, metrics, etc.) to improving current business systems and architecture.
 
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of IT or Business Experience with direct Oil and Gas experience - Required
  • Proven business acumen in E&P, Oil and Gas business process consulting
  • Experience with solutions architecture (including data, enterprise and technical), systems delivery, integration, support and IT governance and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate on both a technical and project management level with a high degree of social acumen.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills or experience:
  • Proficient in a variety of tools and software applications including Power BI, Tableau, TIBCO, Spotfire, Aries, Enertia, Conduit/IHS, Microsoft products and data querying via SQL and ODBC.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to transform complex data sets into actionable formats and creating comprehensive dashboards that allow performance to be tracked in real time.
  • Have strong client delivery and engagement management experience.
  • Serve as an advisor to clients as their business consultant and solutions expert and/or technical lead.
  • Gather system requirements, data requirements, conduct analysis, plan and develop integration solutions for client infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain SQL reports within current business reporting software.
  • Confirm that all work is delivered to a high standard of quality in accordance with company standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Engage with teams on the ground to regularly check on deliverables and progress.
  • Work closely with internal teams, vendors and other business associates.
  • Experience using Jaspersoft and QuickSight
  • Understanding in all areas of business as they relate to E&P, Upstream, Midstream, and Marketing operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
