Job Duties

Virginia Tax is seeking a Business Analyst to support the Tax Processing Operations section. You would become part of a dedicated team that provides analytical support to enhance the Agency’s tax return processing and payment systems. As a member of this team, you will support systems that are the foundation of Virginia Tax’s core operations.

Tax Processing is responsible for the processing of over 14 million tax returns and 8 million payments. Our department ensures refunds are issued timely and critical Government operations, such as education, public safety, and programs for those in need, receive the necessary funding.

As a Business Analyst, you will help ensure our systems are operating as designed, are efficient, and meeting the taxpayer’s needs and expectations.

• Providing functional and data analytical support.
• Developing business requirements for system improvements.
• Performing business analysis and problem solving.
• Ensuring system changes are working per design.
• Developing and maintaining documentation.

The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $68,289.

This position is located in Richmond, VA at our Westmoreland Street location.

This position is eligible to telework 2 days a week after 6 months.

Minimum Qualifications

•Experience working in a time-sensitive work environment supporting public-facing programs.
•Experience providing business and functional support to an online or other application systems.
•Experience learning an application system without prior knowledge of it and the expectation of becoming the subject matter expert supporting the system.
•Experience writing business requirements for application programs.
•Experience testing software applications systems.
