The Behavioral Health Data Analyst position is responsible for performing data input, data collection, data summaries, and detailed analyses for various types of quality, safety, peer review, Medical Staff Departmental and performance improvement activities. The Analyst will complete all job requirements as assigned and directed, and oversee data systems management and analytical reports as needed. This position is part of the Behavioral Health Team. The Analyst plays an integral role in performance improvement activities across the behavioral health continuum.









Responsibilities






  • Extracts, verifies, and manipulates complex data sets, performs statistical analysis of data, interprets results, and organizes insights into meaningful reports that can be acted upon for internal and external individuals
  • Designs and builds dashboards and other data visualization projects to disseminate data and information effectively to behavioral health leadership. Is able to present data verbally in a clear and concise manner that others can understand.
  • Assists in preparation and submission of institutional compliance reports to federal, state, and accrediting bodies, and external surveys, such as US News and World Report
  • Assists in determining specific indicator definitions/criteria and abstracts data using this predetermined criteria. 
  • Monitors external databases involving reportable data and assures timely data collection and reporting.
  • Supports interdepartmental performance improvement activities.
  • Researches and obtains internal and external benchmarks as well as other tools/methods for data collection and presentation for possible use in the performance improvement process. 
  • Assists in developing data collection and monitoring tools. Works with team members to educate on the proper use of these tools and data collection methodology.
  • Validates and checks accuracy of data and formulas used in the data collection/aggregation process.
  • Assists leader and/or other team members with ad hoc projects as assigned. Ad hoc reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Provides general operational and administrative support as needed for the proper conduct of research studies.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications






  • Associates degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business, finance, statistics, healthcare or related field. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in medical data abstraction, data reporting and business intelligence analytics in relational databases is preferred. 
  • Experience with large databases, quantitative analytical tools, including any of the following: SPSS, SAS, SQL, R or python
  • Experience providing support in research studies and understanding of IRB protocols that leads to journal publication.
