JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President of AI and Data Analytics provides enterprise leadership for the Credit Union’s artificial intelligence, data governance, business intelligence, and advanced analytics capabilities. This role develops and executes a responsible AI and data analytics strategy that converts trusted data into actionable insights, improves member and employee experiences, increases operational efficiency, strengthens risk management, and supports sustainable growth. The position leads the identification, prioritization, delivery, and ongoing oversight of AI and analytics solutions and partners with business, technology, information security, risk, compliance, legal, and audit leaders to ensure data and AI are secure, reliable, explainable, ethical, compliant, and aligned with the Credit Union’s strategic priorities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree; in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, information systems, engineering, business administration, finance, or a related field.

Experience/Skills

  • Ten years of progressive experience in AI, data analytics, business intelligence, data management, machine learning, or digital transformation, including at least five years leading teams or enterprise programs.
  • Demonstrated experience developing AI and analytics strategies, governance frameworks, operating models, roadmaps, executive dashboards, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience applying descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to business decisions and translating complex findings into clear executive recommendations.
  • Experience in a regulated financial institution, credit union, banking, insurance, or similarly regulated environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with responsible AI, model governance, privacy, cybersecurity, third-party risk, regulatory examinations, and audit support.
  • Strong executive communication, change leadership, financial acumen, vendor management, and ability to connect technical capabilities to business strategy and customer outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of cloud data platforms, data integration, data quality, metadata, business intelligence and visualization tools, advanced analytics, machine learning, generative AI, model monitoring, SQL, and secure solution delivery.
  • Effectively present, interpret, analyze and communicate information verbally and written and to respond to questions from various stakeholders.
  • Ability to problem solve based on information provided using concrete variables.


PREFERRED

Education

  • Master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, information systems, engineering, business administration, finance, or a related field. 

License/Certification

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent data-governance credential
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate, or comparable analytics credential
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer, or comparable AI credential
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), or equivalent privacy credential
  • CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or comparable information-security or risk credential
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, or comparable program-management credential


Credit must be in good standing. Must be bondable pursuant to §713.3(b) of the NCUA’s Rules and Regulations.
