We are excited to welcome a Transportation Data Analyst to our Dallas/ Fort Worth team! This position plays a vital role in supporting our logistics and transportation operations through data-driven insights, and cost reduction measures, while leveraging data analytics to optimize transportation efficiencies.

 

The Dallas/ Fort Worth area will be home base, and you need to be within driving distance, but this position will be remote. 

 

Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Transportation Data Analyst to support our logistics and transportation operations through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will leverage data analytics to optimize transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance. This role will involve data collection, visualization, and reporting to enhance decision-making within the transportation and logistics team.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation and logistics data to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as freight costs, delivery performance, carrier efficiency, and transit times.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Support TMS (Transportation Management System) data integration and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights and recommendations for improving transportation operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate carrier performance using historical and real-time data.
  • Assist in forecasting transportation needs based on demand planning and market trends.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and analysis processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging analytics technologies to drive continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in transportation, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with TMS, ERP systems, or logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MercuryGate) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to present data findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in predictive analytics and machine learning applications in logistics.
  • Certification in data analytics or supply chain management (e.g., CAP, CSCP, CLTD).
  • Knowledge of freight auditing, optimization strategies, and cost reduction methodologies.
