About the role:
The Smart Metering Analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of Southern Water’s smart metering programme through the provision of accurate, timely, and insightful performance and management information.
The role contributes to a key strategic initiative aimed at reducing water abstraction, minimising environmental and carbon impacts, and improving operational efficiency.
By enabling improved visibility of water usage and system performance, the analyst supports enhanced customer engagement, more effective leakage identification, and continuous improvement in customer experience.
What you will be responsible for:
Reporting to the Metering Assurance Lead, the Smart Metering Analyst works closely with the Smart Operations Centre (SOC) and the Alternative Metering Service (AMS) provider to analyse and interpret data across the end-to-end metering journey.
The role is responsible for collating data from multiple sources, assessing performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), targets, and regulatory requirements, and identifying trends, risks, and areas for improvement. A core aspect of the role involves producing clear and effective data visualisations and reports that provide stakeholders with meaningful insights into programme performance and support informed decision-making.
The Smart Metering Analyst is also accountable for ensuring that all reporting outputs meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
