This role sits within the Finance Data and Reporting Team within the wider Finance function.

The Finance Data and Reporting team is primarily responsible for developing reporting systems within a cross-functional environment that align with Group reporting requirements, ensuring their maintenance and accuracy. Our team collects actuals posted in multiple source systems into the Finance Data Warehouse (FDW), which is then utilized by downstream reporting systems. We also manage an in-house developed revenue and billing forecasting system, as well as a subscription revenue reporting system.  In addition, our team is also responsible for developing reports based on AVEVA’s core ERP – Oracle Fusion Applications.

As a senior business analyst of the Finance Data and Reporting team, you will play a key role in supporting both Group data and Oracle reporting teams.  You will be primarily responsible for analysis and documentation of reporting systems under the direct control of our team. Additionally, you will participate in projects that directly impact finance reporting by producing high-quality requirement specifications, use cases, test scripts, and user guides.

This role requires previous experience in business analysis and documentation within a finance, business systems, or ERP setting. Experience with the Campaign to Cash (C2C) process and an understanding of accounting concepts would be advantageous.


Responsibilities & Duties

Analysis and documentation of finance reporting systems.

  • Conduct thorough analysis to understand and document the functionality and logic of reporting systems in collaboration with Finance Data and Reporting and IT technical teams.
  • Prepare field mapping documents for feeds used in reporting systems.
  • Prepare data flow diagrams and other technical diagrams.
  • Develop user manuals for each reporting system.
  • Maintain and update documentation as systems undergo continuous enhancements.

Analysis and documentation of Oracle reporting requirements

  • Collaborate with Oracle users to understand their reporting requirements.
  • Create detailed requirement specifications and test scripts according to AVEVA standards for use by report developers.

Other Key responsibilities

  • Participate in projects to expand the Data Warehouse, Balance Sheet Cube, Zuora Contracts and Intelligence and Revenue and Billings Intelligence Tool by assisting with capturing and documentation of requirements, and updating mapping documents and user manuals etc.

General

  • Develop good understating of the Campaign to Cash process, the flow of data within and impacts for key reporting systems
  • Become proficient in group reporting structures and attributes used in finance reporting
  • Gain a solid understanding of the support systems used for finance reporting, such as Salesforce, Zuora, and Oracle Fusion Applications.

Knowledge and experience required

  • Demonstrate business analysis experience in a global organization. Candidates with a solid understanding of the Campaign to Cash (C2C) process gained through finance or systems roles will also be considered.
  • Proficient in requirements definition and management, with strong documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines effectively under pressure.
  • Experience of collaborative working with cross functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite

Knowledge and experience desired

  • Part qualified Accountant, or proven track record of working with finance data or ERP systems
  • Professional business analysis qualifications
  • Exposure to Oracle Fusion Applications, Zuora or Salesforce
  • Good knowledge of Power BI
