Job Description:


This job is responsible for ensuring operational data is fit for purpose, defining controls, and monitoring processes are in adherence to enterprise data management standards. Key responsibilities include triaging and remediating data incidents, performing data analysis, training new users, and performing impact analysis stemming from data updates. Job expectations include helping in defining access and ownership of data by domain, conducting quality control, and overseeing data maintenance.

Team Specific Job Description:

The Data Policy Analyst – External Data Transmission Governance role will provide support for External Data Transmission (EDT) aligned governance processes, controls, and metrics memorialized via a dynamic internal Standard. This role will serve as a subject matter expert on external data transmissions ensuring FLU/CF Standard adherence, on-going engagement with FLU/CFs to drive transparent processes, flawless execution and timely escalation and remediation of EDT-related issues/incidents.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures data is accurate, complete, and fit for performing data analyses through various testing procedures and data controls which help to identify business insights fit for purpose for a particular product set
  • Develops and executes on Enterprise Data Management policies and standards, works across teams to ensure adherence, serves as a key point of contact for all topics related to data compliance, and manages operational elements of the (Enterprise Data Strategy Governance and Operations (EDSGO) relationship
  • Manages data related incidents and identifies, communicates, and resolves or escalates issues as needed. Data inquiries include questions related to data issues, availability of data, and potential sourcing alternatives to inform
  • Develops, manages, and executes on controls, ensuring tracking, monitoring, and resolution of any control breaches with data platform
  • Partners with Business and Technology functions to drive the development of business and functional requirements documents and ensures strategic upstream resolution for data related incidents
  • Supporting detailed governance processes (standard revisions/updates, reporting, guidance development and updates, etc.)
  • Solving problems and executing on key deliverables such as process/procedure/guidance documentation, training materials, and facilitation by applying subject matter expertise and technical knowledge
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, partners, and business leadership to drive policy adherence by supporting key EDT Governance functions: Data Channel Governance engagements and address ad hoc FLU/CF support needs by providing guidance to ensure EDT Standards compliance
  • Producing accurate pro-forma and monthly Metrics reporting to enable timely closure of performance gaps by FLU/CFs; evaluate individual use cases for override and grace period eligibility

    Required Qualifications:

    • Analytical Mindset, data driven, and strong attention to detail
    • Proven ability to develop written materials (decks, briefing materials) used to organize and clearly communicate key messages to stakeholders; metrics/scorecard development
    • Intermediate / Advanced Excel expertise (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
    • Intermediate / Advanced PowerPoint expertise to create Executive level presentations
    • Strong planning and organizational skills, accepting accountability for tasks and ability to balance multiple competing priorities
    • Must be collaborative and curious – a continuous learner
    • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and think outside the box.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience/strong familiarity with data management lifecycle/concepts (Capture, Transport, Use, External Data Transmission)

    Minimum Education Requirement:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
