The ideal candidate combines advanced SQL, Python, and Tableau expertise with strong business judgment and an understanding of supply chain operations. This is an opportunity to influence planning, inventory performance, sourcing decisions, operational readiness, and continuous-improvement initiatives in a highly visible, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define reporting, analytics, and data requirements.
  • Design, develop, publish, and maintain scalable Tableau dashboards, executive scorecards, self-service analytics, and recurring reports.
  • Write, troubleshoot, optimize, and validate complex SQL queries, views, datasets, and data extracts.
  • Use Python to automate data preparation, reconciliation, quality checks, report generation, and repeatable analytics workflows.
  • Analyze inventory levels, material requirements, supplier performance, demand trends, service levels, lead times, spend, and other operational KPIs.
  • Translate complex data into clear findings, recommendations, and visualizations for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Monitor supply chain activity to identify risks, trends, exceptions, performance gaps, and opportunities for corrective action.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis across source systems, dashboards, and published reports.
  • Support supplier evaluations, scorecards, sourcing analysis, and selection methodologies through data-driven reporting.
  • Develop reporting that supports budgeting, forecasting, capital and operating plans, emergency-restoration readiness, and process improvement.
  • Provide technical support and subject-matter expertise for dashboards, reporting platforms, supply chain applications, and data-related issues.
  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new applications, system enhancements, reporting solutions, and data integrations.
  • Define and document reporting processes, data definitions, business rules, metrics, and governance standards.
  • Develop training materials, facilitate workshops, and educate users on dashboards, reports, and analytical tools.
  • Build productive relationships with business partners, technology teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, task forces, training initiatives, and special assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data querying, or a related analytical field.
  • At least five years of hands-on SQL experience, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, common table expressions, views, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
  • At least three years of hands-on Python experience involving data analysis, automation, transformation, data-quality validation, or reporting workflows.
  • At least two years of hands-on Tableau experience, including dashboard development, calculated fields, parameters, filters, data sources, publishing, scheduling, and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining dashboards, operational reports, executive scorecards, and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Strong capabilities in data extraction, exploration, transformation, modeling, visualization, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data models, SQL queries, dashboards, reports, and actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate technical findings to nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong attention to data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; advanced Excel skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the utility, energy, construction, inventory, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain sectors.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, material planning, forecasting, sourcing, supplier performance, and operational performance measurement.
  • Experience facilitating the design, documentation, or improvement of supply chain processes.
  • Familiarity with Cognos, MySQL, or additional business intelligence and analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, documentation, access controls, and SOX-compliant reporting practices.

What Success Looks Like
