As a Senior Data Manager, you will play a crucial role in structuring and governing our data to drive meaningful actions and insights. The Senior Data Manager will be themselves an exceptional data quality analyst and will develop and implement our customer data quality strategy and operating framework by developing and implementing our customer data quality strategy and operating framework.
Specifically, you will be responsible for these activities:
• Leading on the development of the Data Quality strategy and framework
• Initially upskilling with the data engineers on Platform teams to ensure data quality practices are carried out whilst the team is being built out.
• Establishing and enforcing data governance and quality standards and best practices across domains, promoting data governance awareness and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
• Developing and implementing data processes and practices, including data lineage tracking, data quality management, metadata management, data issue resolution etc.
• Upskilling with the data engineers on Platform teams to ensure data quality is. principles are integrated into data systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Collaborating with domain data product owners, data engineers and relevant stakeholders to assess data governance needs, introduce necessary standards and data quality controls, and ensure compliance
• Maintain a roadmap for regular data audits to ensure compliance, address potential issues, and enhance data quality.
• Promote data governance disciplines and culture internally, educating the business on analytics, reporting, data management, and data quality.
• Drive improvements in data quality and review data collected and used against data governance requirements.
• Use data tools, reporting, and knowledge sharing to democratise data across the company.
Key criteria
• Significant experience in a data governance role within a large organisation
• Experience developing and / or implementing data quality strategy/Framework
• Experience carrying out data profiling, cleansing, creating dashboards and issue management.
• Experience in managing a team as this role will have direct reports
• Excellent influencing skills and ability to build effective relationships across business, technical, and governance functions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of data quality concepts and methodologies
• Experience in working with Data Quality/Observability tools (Sifflet or similar)
Desirable Skills
• Experience working hands-on with big data systems / complex dataset management and high-level programming languages such as SQL and data visualisation tools (Tableau, PowerBI or similar)
• Experience with agile or other rapid application development methods
• A mix of public sector and commercial experience
• Knowledge of different data programming or structured querying languages

Band: D
Salary: £ 50,000 - £55, 000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. London Weighting Allowance also offered. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Hybrid role - also required to be based at TVC office on occasion
