JOB TITLE: Senior Business Analyst – Healthcare Data Team (Remote Opportunity)

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Data Management and Development

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Senior Business Analyst on our Healthcare Data Team, you will be responsible for analyzing complex healthcare data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, healthcare professionals, and IT teams to ensure that data initiatives align with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help drive key decisions that improve patient care, optimize operational efficiency, and support strategic goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for healthcare data projects.
  • Translate business needs into data-driven solutions, ensuring that data strategies align with organizational goals.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in healthcare delivery and operations.
  • Develop and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with data engineers and IT teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility.
  • Lead workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate findings, and present recommendations.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of data governance frameworks and processes to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data-driven initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide junior business analysts, providing expertise in data analysis and healthcare industry best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that impact healthcare data management.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on healthcare data.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare industry standards, regulations, and practices, including HIPAA and HL7.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies, such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience working with healthcare data systems, including EHR/EMR systems, claims data, and clinical databases.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices in healthcare.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with population health management and value-based care models.
  • Understanding of healthcare analytics, including predictive modeling and risk stratification.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
