Key responsibilities:
Leads, grows and develops a team of data analysts that writes, deploys and maintains analytics tools to build, integrate, manage, maintain, and quality-assure data at bp.
Creates positive engagement and drives an inclusive work environment with team and stakeholders through the quality of interactions and collaboration across multiple business entities.
Effectively works with cross-disciplinary collaborators and stakeholders across multiple business entities.
Be a bridge between business and digital organisations and part of a cross-disciplinary team, working closely with other analysts, product managers, data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, data managers and business partners.
Designs reliable and scalable solutions.
Advocates for and ensures their team adheres to ideal ways of working (e.g. design, design review, testing, documentation),
Apply deep commercial insight to inform strategic planning and decision making across multiple business entities
Deep understanding of all data domains in your business entity / enabler area
Responsible for deploying secure and well-tested solutions that meets privacy and compliance requirements.
Actively contributes to improve analysts velocity.
Present results to peers and senior management (including to the CEO and the Executive leadership team), influence decision making
Sponsor talent and mentor others.
Essential Qualifications
MSc in a quantitative field, preferably statistics.
Experience leading, growing and developing a data analysts team
Demonstrated hands-on expertise in data analytics, data mining, and product analytics within complex, high-velocity environments. Skilled in leading and mentoring teams to execute these activities effectively, driving data-informed decision-making across the organisation.
Applied knowledge of data analytics and data pipelining tools and approaches across all data lifecycle stages.
Thorough understanding of underlying mathematical foundations of statistics, including knowledge of experimental design and analysis and causal inference from observational data.
Expert knowledge of SQL and ability to apply it. Working knowledge of Databricks
Advanced scripting experience in R or python.
Ability to write and maintain moderately complex data pipelines
Strong business sense and competence. Excellent written and spoken communication and stakeholder management skills.
Customer-centric and pragmatic, with a focus on value delivery and swift execution, while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to effectively lead global teams and manage a diverse group of stakeholders.
Delivery focused mentality with continuous learning and improvement approach.
Desired
Advanced analytics degree
Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, and Spark) is a plus.
No prior experience in the energy industry required.
