Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Oracle Database Administrator to work in our Information Technology department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule remote or hybrid with every other Friday off.
You will report to the Database Services Manager and use engineering techniques and processes to design, implement, administrate and maintain database systems. Design database schemas for efficient use, access, and user understanding.
Responsibilities Include:
Perform as a Database Administration subject matter expert with Oracle Databases and Oracle business systems.
Manage security of systems, tuning, backups, maintenance, access control, and oversight of moderate to large databases.
Participate in and support upgrades, patches and maintenance of the Oracle E-Business Suite application and databases.
Become familiar with other databases and systems supported by the team to act as a backup resource for other members of the team.
Develop detailed work plans and schedules to ensure products are delivered in a defined/agreed time frame – ensure documented requirements, change management and other IT best business practices for all endeavors undertaken.
Participate in code reviews of peer's code changes.
Look for solutions to further automate database administration, configuration and deployments.
Work with technical staff to acquire requirements for the database portion of the development projects.
Minimum Requirements\:
Level 3\: Bachelor of Science degree in technical field including Computer Science, Computer Information Systems Administration, Data Analytics, Database Design or related field and 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s in a technical field and 2 years of relevant experience; or 11 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Level 4\: Bachelor of Science degree in technical field including Computer Science, Computer Information Systems Administration, Data Analytics, Database Design or related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s in a technical field and 6 years of relevant experience; or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated proficiency with Oracle database administration, configuration, and management.
Strong experience with the Linux operating system and administration of Oracle databases on Linux servers.
Experience with various scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python, or others.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
The ideal candidate will possess\:
Experience with automated build and deployment tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Ansible automations, or YAML pipelines.
Experience maintaining and supporting the Oracle E-Business Suite, application middleware and database
Experience with OCI migrations and management
Experience with source control tools such as Git and work management tools like Jira.
Job Information\:
The pay range for this position is\: Level 3 ($75,804 - $155,496)/ Level 4 (91,008 - $186,588). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
TDP\: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
Multi-Level\: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
