Internal Channels Manager & Data Analyst

The Role

As the Internal Channels Manager and Data Analyst, you will:

  • Manage key global communication channels – including the pivotal role of ‘Managing Editor’ of the new One JLL News channel – with a key focus on Poppulo and our Sharepoint intranet
  • Lead and manage data reporting for the Internal Communications Centre of Excellence team –responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help measure the effectiveness of our internal communications efforts and provide recommendations for optimizing reach, engagement, and overall employee experience.
  • Work as a consultant with stakeholders from the broader communications function and the business, offering best practice advice and leading projects in internal channels.

Specific channels include:

  • Global email tool – a new channel, the One JLL newsletter, providing news and operational updates targeted across the global organisation
  • Intranet Homepage – the single landing page for all employees, providing personalised news, information and services
  • Internal Social Collaboration platform – Viva Engage
  • Screens/ambient communication channels in offices

Core skills & experience

  • Highly proficient in Sharepoint 365 – 3-5 years experience of using Sharepoint to create and update new sites and pages
  • Hands on experience of Poppulo – in particular large-scale emails with multiple contributors and targeted audience groups
  • Experience of operational management of channels day-to-day in a large matrix organisation
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role in internal communications.
  • Experienced and highly proficient in the use of data software – tyGraph is desirable but can be taught
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data findings in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Understanding of the internal digital landscape – particularly in a large-scale corporate environment with a matrixed global audience.
  • Project management
  • Stakeholder management – particularly in the context of networks of editors and contributors

Why do we need you?

Internal Communication is undergoing a transformation at JLL. This position offers a wide scope in terms of variety – you will support the internal channels director at a critical juncture as we develop our first company-wide internal channel strategy.

Your key objective is to be a hands-on expert in all things related to internal channel management. We’re looking for someone with 3-5 years experience of using Poppulo and Sharepoint 365 to manage the smooth and effective day-to-day delivery of our channels. 

You must be a master of data and analytics – you will play a crucial role in utilizing data to drive insights and improvements in our internal communications strategies and initiatives. You will be working with IT partners to design dashboards as well as being responsible for ensuring data is accurately pulled and delivered from various data sources. You are someone who loves data and is comfortable, adept and experienced in mining and analysing analytics, as well as providing insights to help shape the future direction of our channels.

You’ll support on substantial ‘start up’ projects, for example – an adoption plan for our Viva Engage platform.

One JLL newsletter – Managing Editor

You’ll be an agent of change and the managing editor for our new One JLL newsletter, supporting stakeholders across the global organisation to deliver a targeted, translated bi-weekly channel. 

You will need to be organised and meticulous about deadlines. This role is the ‘glue’ that will draw many groups together to deliver our newest and most high-profile internal channel.

Your editorial expertise – including copy editing and proofing - alongside stakeholder management skills will be paramount.

An important part of the role will be maintaining editorial standards so all content adheres to our tone of voice and JLL house style.  You’ll be managing a large network of contributors and will be responsible for quality assurance.

Channel strategy and development

Central manager and principle contact point for the new One JLL newsletter. Oversees:

  • Content quality assurance in line with channel governance and house tone and style
  • Oversees the production and build process, liaising with Poppulo and in-house IT
  • Offers training and guidance to contributors on how to submit and upload material
  • Responsible for measurement and reporting
  • Troubleshoots issues and acts as a principle escalation point
  • Leads the day-to-day management and development of the intranet homepage in line with our channel, content and governance strategies, and make sure they are reflected in site content and design.
  • Leads projects to enhance and improve the functionality of the intranet homepage, to improve levels of employee engagement.

Channel content

  • Work in partnership with the Content and Campaigns team to amplify and distribute strategic global content across the Internal Digital channels ecosystem.

Channel measurement

  • Regularly measure each channel, using a combination of research and analytics, and create, drive and implement action plans as a result.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data related to internal communications initiatives, including email campaigns, intranet engagement, employee surveys, and other relevant sources.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that summarize key metrics and performance indicators, providing insights into the effectiveness of different communication channels and strategies.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in the data and distill complex findings into actionable recommendations for improving internal communications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis and reporting to continuously enhance the effectiveness of internal communications initiatives.
  • Present data findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

Digital consultancy

  • Offer consultancy advice to stakeholders in the broader communications teams and the business on specific digital employee engagement projects.

Team development

  • Support the Channels Director with adhoc projects as part of the strategic development of the team.
  • Deputise for the Channels Director.
