ICT Data Analyst

Ocean Housing Ltd ¦ ICT Department

Permanent, 37 hours, £37,500 per annum

Are you passionate about data accuracy, insightful analysis, and making a real difference through your work? Ocean Housing Ltd is looking for a talented ICT Data Analyst to join our ICT team and play a vital role in shaping informed decisions across the organisation.

"Turn data into insight. Insight into impact"

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a purpose-driven housing organisation where your analytical skills will directly support transparency, compliance, and better services for our customers and communities.

💼 About the Role

As an ICT Data Analyst, you’ll ensure operational data is accurate, validated, auditable, and accessible, enabling colleagues to confidently analyse trends, meet regulatory requirements, and make evidence‑based decisions. You’ll design insightful reports, dashboards, and visualisations that bring complex data to life and support both strategic and day‑to‑day operations.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, acting as a trusted partner who understands their data needs and delivers clear, timely insights. Data governance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement will be at the heart of everything you do.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • Validate, cleanse, and prepare datasets to maintain high standards of data quality and integrity
  • Analyse historical and operational data to identify trends and actionable insights
  • Design and deliver clear reports, dashboards, and visualisations (e.g. using Power BI)
  • Apply data governance frameworks and highlight data quality issues for resolution
  • Support compliance, transparency, and robust organisational governance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and improve data-driven decision making
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support ICT helpdesk activities when required

👤 About You

You’re analytical, curious, and detail‑driven, with the confidence to turn numbers into meaningful stories. You enjoy working collaboratively and explaining data insights in a way that non‑technical audiences can easily understand.

You’ll bring:

  • A Level 4 qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Strong SQL skills and advanced Excel expertise
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards, ideally using Power BI
  • A solid understanding of data validation, reporting, and statistical concepts
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
  • A proactive approach, with a passion for continuous professional development

Experience with scripting languages (such as Python or R), data governance standards, or working in the social housing sector would be an advantage—but not essential.

🌟 Why Join Ocean Housing?

  • Be part of a values‑led organisation committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Work in a role with real impact on services, accountability, and customer outcomes
  • Supportive environment that encourages learning, innovation, and professional growth
  • The chance to help shape how data is used to improve lives across our communities

Ocean Housing Ltd is a not for profit, charitable registered provider of social and affordable housing, with a stock of over 4,700 properties throughout Cornwall. We are part of the Cornwall Homechoice ‘Choice Based Lettings’ scheme.

At Ocean we believe affordable housing is not just about the buildings, but about the people who turn them into homes. We provide a wide range of services to our residents, helping them to make the most of their homes and the communities they live in.

“To be an innovative provider of quality homes and services, with residents and staff at the heart of Ocean, and Ocean at the heart of the community.”

At Ocean our vision is to be the employer of choice for Cornwall. We want to create a work environment where everyone feels like they belong, can bring their best, authentic selves to work every day and are provided with the support they need to do a great job.

Our purpose is to create a modern, dynamic and agile work environment, fit for the 21st Century and one of which all of our colleagues feel included and proud to be a part of. An environment which enables colleagues to provide quality, affordable homes and services for the people of Cornwall. We believe work is what you do, not where you go and therefore colleagues deliver their work where it best suits the need, whether that be in the office, home or around a local area or site using local facilities. Colleagues are agile and work or have meetings in any place to suit the need and task.
