POSITION DUTIES



This position serves as a Functional/Business Analyst of the Financial Applications System (FAS) team for the statewide Financial Management Information System (FMIS) application.



FMIS consists of the Advanced Purchasing and Inventory Control System (ADPICS), the statewide financial information system (R*STARS) and statewide reporting applications ADHOC/FOCUS, ViewDirect and the WEB Based application – ANSWERS. 




Responsibilities include the resolution of level two and three incidents and requests for user support originating in ServiceNow. The analyst’s knowledge of the various FAS applications and general business and accounting practices will enable them to analyze user requests, solve system problems and process user requests into system design specifications.






  • Provide FAS application
    support to end-users which cannot be solved by lower-level help desk
    support.  This includes prioritizing,
    troubleshooting and communicating issues to the customer.  Provide reports through the use of approved
    ADHOC reporting.





  • Act as liaison between
    agencies, user groups and other DoIT personnel.




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



Experience: Five years of experience providing problem analysis and ongoing user support, coordinating system development and implementation, and training users on the functionality of applications for agency or statewide systems housed on computers or large client server platforms.


Notes:


1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or other related field with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated information systems and three years of experience providing problem analysis and ongoing user support, coordinating system development and implementation, and training users on the functionality of applications for agency or statewide systems housed on computers or large client server platforms for the required experience.


2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in the Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.



DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



Preference will be given to
candidates who have the following:





  • State Government accounting experience, which includes a strong working
    knowledge of the Financial Management Information System (FMIS).

  • Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) in running
    state accounting reports in FOCUS.




SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS




Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24
hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency
with a telephone number where the employee can be reached. Employees may be
furnished with a pager or cell phone.



Applicants

investigation prior to appointment.  A
criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the applicant. 




Employees may occasionally be required to travel
to field locations and must have access to an automobile in the event a state
vehicle cannot be provided. Standard mileage allowance will be paid for use of
a privately owned vehicle.
