The firm is seeking a Fixed Income Data Analyst to ensure the Client Service organization has access to high quality data and data tools to provide exceptional client service.  This role requires coordination and communication across the client, investment, technology, data governance, and investment operations teams. The Data Analyst plays an important role in the data lifecycle by ensuring data is consumed efficiently, consistently, and accurately. This role is critical to the execution of our firm’s digital transformation initiative which includes centralizing data in the cloud, enhancing self service capabilities, and enabling automation of client material production at scale efforts. Reporting line would be within Client Service, with a matrix into Fixed Income Portfolio Analytics Team, or FIPAT.  

Primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Responsible for understanding key data required to support client service organization, representing business requirements, and partnering with fixed income and client service leadership on prioritizing client service data development work across client service applications (Vermillion, Seismic, Tableau, and Adobe Experience Manager) 

  • Coordinating effort to remap Client Service reporting tools towards single source cloud data through enterprise migration.  

  • Curating and governing derived data sets used in client materials through the creation of new filters and views for use by the client and investment teams  

  • Participating in new system integration, testing, and other data-related collaborative work with technology    

  • Coordinating and communicating data-driven enhancements to client (and as necessary investment) team   

  • Diagnosing and working with the appropriate teams to resolve data issues across internal and third-party applications 

  • Partnering with Enterprise Data Governance to ensure data quality requirements are understood 

  • Supporting Enterprise Data Governance as they document data lineage and data field definitions in Collibra 

Qualifications:             

Dodge & Cox targets candidates with high levels of academic and professional achievement and leadership ability. 

  • B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably with coursework in mathematics, finance, economics, or accounting 

  • 4+ years of relevant industry work experience (investment data governance, investment data analysis, client reporting, security analysis, financial software, etc.)  

  • Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel knowledge  

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Technical mindset with enthusiasm for learning a multitude of systems and programs and working knowledge with Bloomberg system  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team-oriented environment 

  • Time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail 

  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Solutions oriented with a tactful approach 

  • Experience with SQL, or other query language, is a plus 

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) accreditation also a plus 

Requirements:

  • Dodge & Cox has a 4/1 hybrid work model, and all Dodge & Cox employees are required to be in their assigned office as noted in the job posting Monday - Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely on Friday.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $165,000.
