The opportunity

As our Financial Crime Systems and Data Analyst you'll be responsible for setting up, designing, developing, and enhancing our Financial Crime systems. You'll be responsible with tuning the systems, writing compliance documentation, contributing to the annual audit and future proofing our Financial Crime system as we scale. 

This role is instrumental in streamlining the Financial Crime team's processes. and maximising the effectiveness of our Financial Crime technology.


What you’ll be doing


  • System Setup and Enhancement:


    Configure and maintain Shieldpay's financial crime systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Stay abreast of industry trends, Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to enhance system effectiveness.

  • System Testing and Documentation: Conduct thorough testing of financial crime systems to verify functionality and compliance while documenting test results for compliance review and approval.

  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors providing financial crime solutions. Evaluate and select new vendors as needed to meet Shieldpay's evolving requirements.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Prepare monthly financial crime MI for reporting purposes. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement while providing actionable insights to drive business decisions.

  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with the Head of Financial Crime Operations, MLRO, Technology, and Product to assess industry trends and ensure Shieldpay's systems remain effective. Provide support to other teams as needed to address financial crime-related issues.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with the latest financial crime regulations and ensure our systems comply with all relevant requirements. Conduct regular reviews and audits of financial crime systems to assess their effectiveness.

  • Information Security: You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of common security threats relevant to the job function while maintaining a good level of understanding and application of data handling procedures and access control principles specific to this role. You’ll be familiar with basic compliance requirements affecting your work.


What we're looking for in you


  • Keen and eager to enhance and expand their experience in Financial Crime technology


  • Technically proficient in mitigating Financial Crime risks through system automation.


  • A robust understanding of risk-based approach concepts within Financial Crime.


  • Demonstrated experience of implementing, enhancing and tuning systems such as Lexis Nexis, World Check One, Fenergo and Atto.
